How We Can Support You

  • Individual Therapy

In Person | Online | Walk + Talk

Individual therapy is a one-on-one space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with a therapist who meets you with care and curiosity. Together, we’ll build coping skills and move toward meaningful change.

  • Trauma Processing

    In Person | Online

Trauma processing helps you safely explore and work through painful experiences using approaches like EMDR, parts work, and somatic therapy. Together, we reduce distress, build resilience, and support you in feeling more grounded.

  • Couples Therapy

    In Person | Online

We support partners of all identities and relationship structures in strengthening communication, deepening connection, and navigating challenges. Our work is kink-aware, poly-affirming, and grounded in respect for your unique relationship.

  • Group Therapy

    In Person | Online

Group therapy offers a supportive, affirming space to connect with others who truly understand your experiences. Together, we share, listen without judgment, and grow in community. Healing happens through connection, and every voice matters.

"No recovery from trauma is possible without attending to issues of safety, care for the self, reparative connections to other human beings, and a renewed faith in the universe. The therapist’s job is not just to be a witness to this process but to teach the client how" - Dr. Janina Fisher

Our Approach to Therapy

Our work is trauma-informed, relational, and tailored to you. We draw from evidence-based approaches to support healing in both mind and body.

Trauma & Processing Approaches

  • EMDR helps your brain process distressing or overwhelming experiences that may feel “stuck.” Using guided eye movements or gentle bilateral stimulation, we work to reduce the emotional intensity of past memories so they feel less intrusive in your present.

  • Brainspotting helps you process trauma and emotional experiences by working with the connection between your brain and body. It allows healing to happen at a deeper level, often without needing to put everything into words.

  • CPT supports trauma recovery by helping you explore how your experiences have shaped your thoughts and beliefs. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work toward more balanced, supportive ways of thinking.

  • TF-CBT is designed for children and teens who have experienced trauma. It combines coping skills, emotional support, and gentle processing to help them understand their experiences, manage big emotions, and feel more safe and secure.

Skill-Based & Coping Approaches

  • CBT helps you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact your emotions and behaviors. Together, we build practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, and stress in a way that feels more balanced and supportive.

  • DBT focuses on helping you manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and cope with stress more effectively. You’ll learn skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and communication.

  • ACT helps you relate to difficult thoughts and feelings with more openness and less struggle. It supports you in staying present and taking meaningful action aligned with your values, even when things feel hard.

Relational, Attachment, Family Work

  • IFS helps you understand and connect with the different “parts” of yourself, like the anxious or protective parts. Instead of pushing them away, we approach them with curiosity and compassion, helping you access more clarity, balance, and healing from within.

  • This approach explores how past experiences and relationships shape your present patterns. Through a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship, we build insight, deepen self-understanding, and create space for meaningful change.

  • Attachment-based therapy explores how early relationships influence your sense of safety, connection, and self. Together, we work toward healing relational wounds and building more secure, supportive ways of relating.

  • PCIT supports parents and young children in building stronger, more connected relationships. Through guided coaching, parents learn skills to improve communication, reduce conflict, and support their child’s emotional and behavioral growth.

Body & Creative Work

  • Somatic therapy focuses on how your body holds stress and emotion. Through gentle awareness and movement, we support your nervous system in releasing tension and building a greater sense of safety and regulation.

  • Mindfulness helps you stay present and aware of your thoughts, emotions, and body without judgment. It can support greater clarity, reduce overwhelm, and help you respond more intentionally in your daily life.

  • Expressive arts therapy uses creative processes like drawing, movement, or music to explore emotions and experiences. It offers a way to process and express what may be difficult to put into words.

A Collective Rooted in Authentic Care

“We are four therapists brought together by a shared passion for making mental health care accessible and meaningful. Our journey began in community mental health, working with individuals experiencing high acuity and altered realities. Through close collaboration with crisis providers, we witnessed the power of compassionate, consistent support, and the gaps that still exist in care. This inspired us to create spaces where people can build the skills they need to lead full, empowered lives in recovery.

Together, we are committed to providing thoughtful, trauma-informed therapy rooted in respect, authenticity, and hope” — Kaylee, Taylor, Hannah, & Becca, Your Root + Bloom Team

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We like to keep things easy and flexible. Here are a few ways you can get started:

    • Fill out our contact form linked here to learn more about availability or next steps—it's a great way to start the conversation via email.

    • Prefer to talk it out? Give us a call at 615-933-9233 and we’ll help you set up your appointment directly.

  • Yay! We’re so glad you found your way to us and you’re ready to begin. That first step is a big one, and we’re honored to be part of your journey.

First, request a consultation or availability by completing our contact form here. Once you’ve scheduled your first appointment, we’ll send you everything you need to get started. You’ll receive an email with a link to set up your secure online portal, where you can complete intake forms, review consents, and share more about you, your goals, your story, and what brings you to therapy.

We’ll take it from there, and you’ll be well on your way.

  • We do not bill insurance directly. Many therapists choose this approach to protect your privacy, reduce administrative hurdles, and maintain flexibility in how sessions are conducted.

That said, we offer super billing—a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. We also use Thrizer, a secure online platform that helps streamline the process of submitting claims as an out-of-network provider.

To make therapy more accessible, we also offer sliding scale options based on your income and needs. If you have questions about sliding scale fees or insurance, we’re happy to help you find the best option for your situation.

  • We’re based in the Music Row area of Nashville, just minutes from several central neighborhoods.

To help ensure a sense of privacy, safety, and comfort, we don’t list our exact address on the website. Once you schedule your first session, you’ll receive a welcome email with everything you need—directions, parking info, and how to find us with ease.

Prefer to stay in your own space? We also offer secure virtual sessions for clients located anywhere in Tennessee. Whether you're meeting us online or in person, your comfort and confidentiality are always a top priority.

Parking is conveniently available on-site, off the street, and at no cost to you, making it easy and accessible when you visit us in person.

  • Great question, because progress in therapy can look different for everyone. Sometimes it’s obvious (like big “a-ha” moments), but often, it’s the quieter signs that show it's working:

    • You start to feel more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns

    • You handle tough situations with a bit more clarity or calm

    • You catch yourself using tools or insights outside the therapy room

    • You feel more connected to yourself or others

    • You notice even small shifts in how you respond instead of react

Therapy isn’t always linear. It can have ups, downs, and in-betweens. But over time, you’ll likely notice a growing sense of momentum, understanding, and self-trust.

And of course, your therapist will check in with you regularly to see how things are feeling and adjust the work to best support you.

  • Your first session is all about getting to know you. No pressure to have it all figured out. We’ll spend time exploring what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and what support might look like moving forward.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    • A safe, welcoming space (virtual or in-person) to talk openly, at your pace.

    • Time to share your story, ask questions, and set goals together.

    • A chance to get a feel for your therapist (and yes, it’s totally okay to be nervous!).

There’s no “right” way to do therapy. We meet you where you are, whether that’s ready to dive deep or just dipping a toe in.

We’re here to walk with you, not rush you. 💛

  • We kindly ask that cancellations be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid any fees.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, as well as no-shows, will be charged the full session fee.

This policy helps us respect everyone’s time and keep our schedule running smoothly. If you have any questions or need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible, we’re here to help!
