Depersonalization + Derealization

Sometimes people describe feeling “out of body,” like they’re watching life happen from the outside, or as if the world around them feels foggy, far away, or unreal. These experiences, called depersonalization (feeling detached from your own body, thoughts, or emotions) and derealization(feeling as if the world around you is unreal or distorted), can be scary and confusing, but they’re actually common responses to stress, trauma, or feeling overwhelmed.

In therapy, you’ll have a safe, compassionate space to talk about what you’re going through without judgment. Together, we’ll explore what these experiences mean for you, practice grounding tools to help you feel more present, and gently work toward reconnecting with yourself and the world around you.
